They serve local coffee (2% Jazz), create unique lunches daily (2 sandwiches, 1-2 salads and a soup) and mix up refreshing beverages (lavender lemonade, sodas, cold-brew coffee & more).
We recently stopped in at PiCNiC Too for a quick lunch. Love the decor in both locations, below is Too's gold stenciled walls & bulb chandelier (out of camera shot were the animals in human portraits).
But back to the food. Menus are posted daily, in a timely manner, on their tumblr, facebook and twitter.
Decisions are somewhat easy with a short menu, the challenge is deciding between equally delicious sounding items that change daily. After zeroing in on meals - we refreshed ourselves with a couple of jars of lavender lemonade.
We diplomatically ordered one each of the sandwiches and split a soup. The latter was lovely - a tomatillo with chicken, rice, crushed tortilla chips and a bit of sliced lettuce for garnish (delicious).
The first sandwich was honey balsamic pulled chicken with avocado, roasted red onion, greens, dijon & mayo, all on a sesame bun. Again, really great taste - great flavour from the chicken - a little tangy a little sweet, perfect balance (and not sloppy to eat).
Sandwich two was a fabulous "grilled cheese" - roasted ham with sliced mango on sourdough with melted cheddar and sriracha honey mustard (adding a nice little kick).
The salads sound really great as well - when we were there: sauteed leek with cranberries, walnuts & goat cheese or beet, avocado & fets with cucumber, chickpeas radish & pumpkin seeds. Meals for sure, loaded with interesting stuff. Next time.
I've not been disappointed coming here - whether it's for a coffee and a treat (they carry a nice selection of sweet & savoury items from the better bakeries in town.) or a full-on lunch (grab a friend and do the half-sandwich swap like we did...all the more to taste & enjoy).
Go. You'll never regret PiCNiC'ing.
